Base Logistics selects the most suitable carrier for your shipment. To do this, our logistics specialists make use of our knowledge and historical data, such as the ‘On Time Performance’ daily measurement of transporters. You therefore have access to hundreds of carriers, via one independent point of contact.
You can also opt to keep contracts with your present transporters, and still make use of our smart cloud-based Transport Management System (TMS). For shipments or requirements that do not fit into existing contracts, we offer an immediate helping hand through our international logistics network.
You don’t need to worry about complicated implementation procedures. Klairy operates with your own internet browser and you can go to work with it straight away. It is of course also possible to integrate Klairy with existing systems.
Base Logistics is fully geared to deal effectively with exceptions and customer-specific requirements. The Base Logistics Control Tower monitors all the shipments closely and proactively, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. If the delivery is going entirely to plan, you will not receive any superfluous messages. If there is any hitch in the process, you will be informed quickly. This leaves you free to concentrate on your core business.
The legislation on transport is becoming more and more complex and can vary from country to country. Customs inspections can seriously delay your shipments. As a result, companies are running increasing risks in the area of customs and compliance. Base Logistics will help you to keep these risks in check.
We meet the strict requirements of the Customs authorities, which is why Base Logistics has been given the status of Authorised Economic Operator (AEO). In Europe, AEO status is the counterpart of C-TPAT, the security measures which the United States put in place following 11 September 2001. Thanks to the AEO certificate, our customers are much less likely to suffer delays through inspections.
For products with special features, such as ‘dual-use’ goods and hazardous materials, we investigate transport and storage possibilities and assist with export licence applications and VAT issues. We also provide Importer/Exporter of Record (IOR/EOR) solutions and assist with customs clearance.
Base Logistics has a global network of over 600 storage locations at its disposal, including our headoffice in Moerdijk with BORG 4 security system. Thanks to this network, we can determine the best storage site for your goods flexibly and independently.
Whether it concerns a manufacturing company, a financial institution or a medical facility, systems going down can mean disaster. A system’s downtime is often caused by logistical waiting time. That time is expensive, because your customers want your product or service delivered ever faster. Which makes it important to streamline your Service Parts Logistics (or Spare Parts Logistics).
Outsourcing your Service Parts Logistics to Base Logistics will mean shorter waiting times and higher customer satisfaction.
Stock accuracy and service performance are of crucial importance. Accordingly, we keep a close eye on those things. Structural audits and pick verification ensure a consistently high quality. Base Logistics uses the ‘free bin’ (or open storage) system. In many cases this guarantees the most efficient means of storage and so reduces your costs compared with the ‘fixed bin’ method.
Moreover, beside our ISO 9001:2008 certification we meet the standards of ISO 13485:2003, for medical devices.
Smart inventory management can lead quickly to lower stockholding and higher performance. The Base Logistics specialists can advise on this. Our unique application, Klairy, also provides comprehensive insight into stocks and goods flows, including Key Performance Indicators and strategic stock levels. All the information is in real time and within just one well-ordered system.
Customers are expecting more and more of their suppliers. Higher quality, shorter delivery times and more added value. The right logistics partner can help you to meet these high expectations. Our Value Added Logistics give you exactly what your customer wants.
Immediately prior to shipping, we make products customer-specific. We process returns for you efficiently, and Klairy provides insight into returns that are outstanding.
Base Logistics offers services such as kitting, configuration, DOA checks, testing and refurbishing in our ESD-secure facilities.
Base Logistics will help you to restrict the growing business risks in respect of customs and compliance. We supply Importer/Exporter of Record (IOR/EOR) solutions and investigate transport and storage possibilities for products with special characteristics, such as ‘dual-use’ goods and hazardous material. We will also assist you with customs clearance and with export licence permit applications. In addition, we assist our customers with VAT issues.
Data Management by Base Logistics makes perception measurable. The volume of data is doubling every year. Clever use of data can change the future of companies, but only a few are currently making active use of it.
In many organisations, logistical decisions are still being made based on perception. Moreover, customers are making increasing demands on their suppliers. Better quality, shorter delivery times and more added value.
Base Logistics can help you to meet these high expectations and to base your decisions on the right information. We have the latest logistical data at our disposal and the expertise to link it with your own data, with the experience of our logistics specialists and with other external data. The result is a powerful management tool that helps you to analyse and optimise your logistical and other business processes.

“I have one logistics partner for all my logistical matters. I appreciate the focus on exceptions. The logistical tool provides current status information and a pick-up overview by carrier. I get all the transport documents out of one system, using one method. I can depend on consistent quality, faster deliveries and fewer customer complaints.”
“I was able to go to work on it straight away, so I immediately obtained clear and complete reports and overall insight into our logistics. I can also split costs by department or user. I can depend on constant quality and more efficient logistical choices.”
“For all the logistics, I get one collective invoice. Base Logistics even provides immediate cost centre determination, such as cost splitting per user or per department. My VAT and customs statements are easier because I can download delivery notes and lists quickly myself. Should anything go wrong, I have one point of contact for the solution.”
“We actually use logistics now as a Unique Selling Point. So we have a higher turnover! We receive fewer queries from our customers and our customer satisfaction has gone up.”
“Besides saving on overheads, I have total insight into my logistics and can rely on continuity. This allows me to concentrate on my core business. Our customer satisfaction has gone up!”
Base Logistics is a logistics service provider, with the focus on Transport Management, Warehouse Management and Data Management. We offer an international network of transport and warehousing partners, combined with a team of logistics specialists and a unique logistics application. Our aim is to make logistics simple, efficient and controllable for our customers. Within our company, innovation is the highest priority, especially through making smart use of IT possibilities.
In order to meet the considerable requirements of our customers, we have developed an internal quality assurance system. In addition, besides our ISO 9001:2008 certification, we also meet the ISO 13485:2003 standards, for medical devices.
Base Logistics of course holds the AEO certificate. Your goods therefore go through customs procedures more easily. Also, goods and documents are inspected less often. In many cases you even get priority at inspections.
Vision: A different approach can bring opportunities. By innovating continuously, we keep our advantage in the market, and IT is the key to this.
Base Logistics was established in 1994 in Dordrecht. The company subsequently set up an office in Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht, before moving into a new building in Zwijndrecht in 2004. In 2007 we set up an ancillary office in Landsmeer. Because this location quickly became too small and so that we could offer more storage space, in 2009 we moved from Landsmeer to a Distribution Centre in Amsterdam, with an office for 10 employees.
In order to make room for the growth that Base Logistics was experiencing, we extended the head office in Zwijndrecht in 2007 into 6000m2. Apart from extra storage surface, this created additional office space for our 85 employees. As our growth continued the need for a more larger accommodation also grew. Therefore, the Amsterdam DC and the Zwijndrecht headoffice were relocated to Moerdijk at the start of 2017. Shortly after that, the Amsterdam office was moved to Oostzaan.
Already at an early stage, automation and innovation took an important place in our company. In keeping with this, we took the decision in 2003 to develop the logistics platform Klairy entirely under our own steam. It is a smart and unique logistics application that still forms the basis of our service provision today.

The weight and the space a package takes up are important when determining the shipping costs. Therefore when calculating the price of your shipment, the so-called volumetric weight is also taken into account. It is important to calculate the volumetric weight for every shipment and to compare it with the actual weight in kilogrammes. The shipping costs are determined based on the higher of the two ‘weights’.
To calculate the volumetric weight, you first determine the volume: length x width x height (in centimetres). For shipments by air and the Express service of international couriers, you divide the volume by the factor 6000 (in some cases 5000). For the Economy service via the integrators, you divide the volume by 4000. For Domestic shipments via the integrators, you use the factor 3333.
The actual factor can vary per carrier. For a current quote of the volumetric weight of your shipments, you are of course welcome to contact us any time.
In our logistics system, Klairy, you will find the current status of every shipment. If you already have a Klairy login, you can log in here. If you do not yet have login details, please contact us to request them.
If you presently only have the tracking number from one of the carriers below, you can enter the tracking number hereunder.
